Boden takes pride in having their clothing be the very best quality possible while being sustainable at the same time, Boden is based in London but their production does happen throughout the world which is the reason why they have 152 factories throughout 52 countries. From Portugal to China to Switzerland to the Philippines, Boden is determined to make a safe high-quality product. Every Boden factory serves a different purpose, the factory where denim is made is not the same factory where denim is created or nylon is created.
One of the most remarkable Boden factories is the one in the UK, this factory is one which is used to produce a lot of tweed for Boden, Tweed is a woolen fabric which is great for the fall or winter. This Tweed trend would then become an obsession to Boden when Johniie Boden decided to buy a tweed archive from the historic Hunters of Bora (Behind the Seams Tweed). This archive now serves as a basis for all the tweed Boden makes now.
Aside from this factory, Boden does have other factories that are also on the western side of the world. One project which is very valuable to Boden is the HERoriject, the goal of this project is “To unlock the full potential of women working in global supply chains through workplace-based interventions on health, financial inclusion, and gender equality (HERproject). The HERproject has been able to empower more than 1,000,000 women working across 14 countries, This project is a great initiative because it gives real-world skills and training to women who wouldn’t have access to it.
