Hello class,
This is a reminder that our 3rd test will be on Thursday, August 1st at the beginning of class. Be sure to bring a proper TI-84 series calculator.
In summary, your tests will include
- Normal Distribution
- Area Under the Normal Distribution Curve (word problems)
- Finding x, z (word problems)
- Central Limit Theorem
- Hypothesis Testing (2 questions)
- Two-tailed
- One-tailed
- From Test 2
- Probabilities, Rules
- Counting Principles (factorial, permutation, combinations, etc.)
- Hypergeometric Probability
- Binomial Probability
- Area Underneath the Normal Distribution curve.
- Discrete Random Variables
- From Test 1
- Linear Regression
- Working with 1-variable data
The following questions should be studied:
- MAT1272 Final Exam Review #1-22
- https://www.citytech.cuny.edu/mathematics/docs/review/MAT1272FinalReview.pdf
- Note: While the final exam review does have material that requires the area underneath the normal curve, those questions are applications of the normal curve to real scenarios, and we won’t have time to teach those in class before the test.
- WileyPlus
- All of Chapter 6, 7, 9.1-9.3
Remember that I am allowing a formula/calculator skills sheet (ONE SHEET OF PAPER) for Test 2. BUT YOU HAVE TO CREATE IT YOURSELF. Please hand in your sheet at the end of class on Wednesday, July 31.
