Hello,
Welcome all to my ePortfolio. My name is Luis Colon, I am currently a student at CUNY NYC College of Technology working toward my BSN. I originally started nursing early in my scholastic career. After high school I went to SUNY Plattsburgh and began my studies. I then moved back to the city and completed my A.A.S. at CUNY BMCC. Once my associated was completed and I passed my NCLEX, I quickly joined the workforce and started as a float nurse at a nursing home in Queens. Since then I became charge nurse of a difficult population of patients with dementia as well as many with sometimes severe co-morbidities. In my time as charge nurse I have been exposed to a varied amount of knowledge and experience. I feel I have learned an extraordinary amount in my duties as charge nurse, however as a nurse I know and understand that education is key and so I enrolled at NYC Tech to complete my BSN which has led me to here today. I hope to continue on and enter a masters program and complete an adult/FNP or DNP degree.
