I placed 4 sites of Arestin on my patient who has stage 3 periodontal disease with medium calculus deposits. He smokes around a pack of cigarettes a day, therefore, he had heavy staining. His initial probing depths were 5-8mm. He came back a month later and the probing depths generally decreased by 1mm.
#3 MB: 5mm-> 4mm
#3 ML: 7mm->6mm
#19 DL:6mm->5mm
#31 B: 8mm->6mm.
The Arestin was effective due to the improvement of the pocket depths. This was very beneficial to my patient and he was very satisfied with the treatment. I am looking forward to applying it to my future patients to help them improve their periodontal health!
