As part of our seminar course, two of my classmates and I created a research project that focused on xerostomia as a result of taking medicine and its contributing factor to caries. There are plenty of patients out there who take multiple prescriptions in one day, especially geriatric patients. We do not realize what an affect these medicines can have on our oral cavity because we only focus on how the medicine is contributing to our health. This project focused on those negative outcomes.
