Hello, and welcome to my Dental Hygiene portfolio! My name is Johanna, and I am an international dentist that enjoys creating connections with people to help them improve their oral health . I am originally from Cuenca- Ecuador where I graduated as a dentist in Católica University of Cuenca. After a few years of learning English I decided to pursue further education in New York College of Technology to receive my Associate degree as a Dental Hygienist.
My approach to oral health is to always see my patients as a individuals with intelligence and emotions whom I get to share my knowledge with. As part of my core values, I believe that treating others the way you would like to be treated is key in this profession. Therefore. I am dedicated to always treat my patients with empathy and compassion.
One of the reasons I chose to complete my studies in Dental Hygiene is because in dentistry as in any other profession it is hardly possible to be perfect in every area of the field. Therefore, pursuing a career in Dental Hygiene has given me the opportunity to focus my studies and skills on the periodontal tissues, preventative procedures and patient education.
