My first time experiencing this internship was straight to the point. Finding an internship was a hard task on its own. However, things went a lot smoother thanks to the professor. When I was called for an interview, I informed the chairman that I specialize in video editing and photo editing. That was more enough for him and I got a position for the organization. Since the chairman also knew the professor, this was another huge plus.
1a) For my first assignment, the chairman sent me over to the director of the Communications and Marketing Department. She sent me design guidelines from the organization itself. The guidelines stated the main brand designs and structure of the organization. It showed how the organization is seen with its branding, logo, and typography. It was enough for me to understand the concepts they were going for and what they represent. I do have a bit more freedom with my design choices, though while keeping the design consistent with the organization’s expectations. Going back to the first task, I had to illustrate and design some logos for the organization with Ecuador flag colors, which was fairly simple. Using the original logos they sent me, I went into photoshop and applied the Ecuador colors, then manage to create five different variations.
1b) I didn’t sign a non-discourse agreement, but I did sign an internship agreement form. This was for me to be accepted into the internship. The professor has approved the organization and I agreed to be an intern of the organization as a student. The director didn’t say anything about confidentialality.
