Week 6: First Meeting

I finally had my first meeting at the internship. It was online through zoom so it felt familiar to any other online meeting just that it was with my new team. The interns got to meet each other (its only three of us) and we were introduced the basics of the internship. They discussed what we need to know, the requirements of the internship, and our personal goals as an intern. Overall, the internship is pretty laidback which I very much appreciate considering there are midterms coming up. I definitely need to keep track of everything by marking things on my calendar and time manage efficiently.

The first project was to update our ePortfolios to set an example for other students. I decided to go with a simple but clean looking theme that is simple to use. It showcases all your latest posts on the homepage with featured images which makes it look consistent while having variations. We also have to begin an OpenLab website evaluation where we are to give feedback on the design. I started by updating my ePortfolio with a new theme and updating all my information. I transferred over my projects that I have in my personal website to this ePortfolio which was pretty easy to do. Overall, I am excited to begin this new journey with OpenLab as an intern to help create a better online platform for my college while growing as a designer.
