I have chosen the quote  “A picture is a poem without words” by Horace for this project. The reason i choose this quote was the meaning of picture and poem are different from many people, but Horace said if a poem has no words, it is a picture. So, i want to challenge myself to create some concept that can express his idea.

At the first concept, I am trying to create a chaotic feeling. The colors behind those letters are using the colors from the color wheel . However, there are some letters are not in box and have  been shown on red. When those individual letters putted together, the last word of this quote will be appear.

At the second concept, I only use black and white, because I am trying to make a contrast and compare between the quote’s main characters “picture” and “poem”. For those words “picture” and “poem” I use black sans serif. However for the “without words” I put it on the black area by using white to get attention and shows the different between picture and poem.

At the third concept, I used a big capital P express the “picture” and the “poem”. A orangish IS stay on the back of the  quote and a blueish capital words express the “words” is the key to separate picture and poem. The background i have chosen is a black and white gallery because i want to show those picture can be as the quote become a poem.
