My name is Jeffrey Merker. I am twenty four years old and I’ve always been fascinated with the colors and designs in the world around me. Ive always focused heavy on logos and what they represent. This is where I think my interest in communication design comes from. In attending City Tech i hope to improve my skills as an artist and a designer.

The ultimate goal would be to land a job as either a design manager or in illustration. I took a few classes in computer science because i was also interested in the back end of design. I realized that coding wasn’t for me and I am now taking classes focused on front-end design. I have no training in art other then my mother teaching me when i was a lot younger, she used to teach art. I like a-lot of the classic artist such as Monet and Picasso. Monet’s style of pointillism was always my favorite and really fascinated me. A designer I really look up to is Elon Musk. I would like to follow in his foot steps and maybe change the world of design.
