A picture/proof that i signed up, that is placed above.

It was a pretty interesting time. Regardless if i tried to get in a few times at zoom from home but for some reason, i couldn’t get in. Eventually i was able to make it.

I learned a lot. Like how Career Services were answering career related questions and offering advice to students “regarding: Soft Skills, Hard Skills, networking, and professional behaviors.”

Even as advertised on handshake.

They also taught how to conduct yourself well and not crappy towards your possible or future employers. This involves the following:

Soft skills including:

  • Communicating with your co-workers(or probably anyone else who happens to be a non employee, who needs help) more often.
  • How to be a good Team leader or player, to help out when anyone needs it.
  • Solving any problem that comes your way.
  • Getting to work on time, bceause if not you’re goona be fired.
  • Thinking in very smart ways about anything.
  • Making good decisions in any given situation.
  • Organizational skills being key as well.
  • Not letting stress get in the way of work, because the other stuff you have to do in your life.

Hard skills including:

  • Computer software knowledge.
  • Graphic design.
  • Data analysis.
  • Project management.
  • Marketing.
  • Copywriting.
  • Computer programming.
  • Foreign languages.

Professional behaviors include:

“Placing the success of the team above self interest; not undermining the team; helping and supporting other team members; showing respect for all team members; remaining flexible and open to change; communicating with others to resolve problems.”

Good networking behaviors include the following:

  • Joining industry associations or clubs.
  • Getting involved in networking events, expos, conferences or careers fairs.
  • Connecting with and reaching out to relevant professionals on LinkedIn.
  • Meeting recruiters.
  • Keeping in touch with former colleagues.
  • Getting to know current colleagues.
