This study required getting the center color to look darker than the other when in reality they are the same color. The other squares couldn’t be 100 percent black or 100 percent white. They had to resemble white or black.

I know that painting is a lot more time consuming but the fact that you had the patience to paint different squares to get the exact color to contrast the smaller square to pop out is amazing.
