Documentation

The documentation process started when everyone split up into various groups and began brainstorming for a topic to present for our project. Each of the members in this group gave different ideas. The first idea group 4 came up with was on how to connect to the CityTech WiFi but then noticed it was fairly simple topic. Then the group came up with the idea of to create a project about how to open a bank account. The group then created an Open Lab site to present the project and on that Open Lab site they added various tabs on what the “how-to” will consist of. They each had to look up sources for their portion of the project. After they found the sources that fitted their subtopic, they read, analyzed, and cited all the sourced. The group then separated the tabs that each member of the group should focus on, they then started the proposal which took them some time because they had to edit and combined all the different ideas they all pitched. The members had a couple of days to complete their assigned tab, they then came to class and put together all the sources they came up with for their portion of the project. Everyone within the group completed their research process either in class or on their own time. After they finished the proposal, the group members will start doing their own subtopic. The topic was break down into four main paints: How to choose a bank, how to choose a right account, documents required, and online banking vs regular banking. Finding research on the topic that they chose was an easy process because there was a lot of information pertaining to their subtopic of opening a bank account. Each member has to find at lease two creditable sources for their subtopic. When it came down to finding images, it wasn’t easy at all because they weren’t sure which images would be appropriate for the subtopic they chose. Along with this the group had to keep in mind that they had to choose credible sources for the images because it then had to be cited. When the group members finished their own part, then they came to class, looked over the online project and discussed what is on next. The group then started their power point presentation in class. The presentation was somewhat of a difficult process because it wasn’t easy to crunch down information from the proposal to bullet points to be spoken about. The group broke down the proposal to main points to be implemented into the presentation so it wouldn’t look like the presentation is just stuffed with information. It wasn’t easy since all the information that was placed in the proposal all felt like it needed to be implemented but just stating the main points will trigger information on all the points to keep them going. The group also had to keep in mind that they each were going to speak for about 2.5-3 minutes because everyone needs some equal time to speak on the subtopic they chose. Overall, the research process was alright and as always there could always be room for improvement. The project wasn’t an easy thing to complete due to the immense amount of information the group had stumbled upon in which they needed to narrow down in order to fit onto slides on a presentation and on the documentation process. In the end everything went well and would recommend everyone jots down every single detail they do along the way so they won’t get stuck on writing their process.
