How to take the plane

GENERAL INFORMATION

Traveling from New York to Hong Kong via airplane can be very confusing if you have never done it before. This section will provide you with a useful step-by-step guide to help get you started.

STEP 1

The first thing you want to do when planning a trip to Hong Kong is check the airports that are closest to you and the airlines that have flights traveling to Hong Kong. You can check out what airlines have flights that travel to Hong Kong in the “Airlines to consider” tab.

STEP 2

After booking your flight you would want to pack your bags but make sure you do not bring anything that violets the T.S.A security regulations. If you are not familiar with those regulations then you should check out the “T.S.A and security” tab. It explains what items are allowed and what items are prohibited from being brought on the plane.

STEP 3

After packing you will want to book your flight and get a ticket. The “Airlines to consider” tab provides prices of tickets for round trip flights to Hong Kong from New York.

STEP 4

The day of your flight you can either take a cab, shuttle, bus or some other method of transportation to get to the airport. There is also an air-train service provided by the airport that helps you get to your departure terminal more efficiently.

STEP 5

After you’ve arrived you will want to talk to a representative from your selected airline. They will give you your boarding pass and determine weather or not you have too much luggage. Generally A person is allowed have one carry-on and one luggage to go in the over head storage compartment. Additional luggage is to be checked in at the ticket counter. Keep in mind overweight luggage must be checked regardless of how many pieces of luggage you have.

STEP 6

After you’ve gotten your boarding pass you will want to head through security. Even if you flight boards later it is always better to get to the gate early. Many people miss their flights because they do not realize that all flights start boarding passengers an hour to 30 minutes before departure.

STEP 7

After security you should wait at the gate or in the general area that your flight will be departing from. Sometimes your name is called at the gate because there are complications with your information that need to be sorted out before you can board.

STEP 8

Once boarding has started, just board your flight and you’re on your way to Hong Kong, China!

Note: Also make sure you have a valid passport when planning your trip to Hong Kong, as it is required.
