A syllabus functions as a contract between the professor and the students. The syllabus is a course-planning tool. It helps the instructor prepare and organize the course. It describes the course goals; explains the course structure and assignments, exams, review sessions, and other activities which required for students to learn the material.
The document includes:
-class calendar
-list of assignments
-grading expectations
-faculty office hours, office phone and email.
The faculty want their students to succeed. If a student has any questions or concerns about what is on the syllabus ask your professor.
Blackboard Learn is an application for online teaching, learning, community building, and knowledge sharing. The Blackboard guide 9 for students is a tutorial for first time users.

How to setup an Advisement appointment?
After developing a preliminary schedule, email Health Sciences at healthsciences@citytech.cuny.edu and include the following:

What email should I use to communicatewith professors and advisors?
All colleges within the City University of New York (CUNY) system provide students with a designated email address by default. This email address is intended to be the primary means of communication between students and the college administration, faculty, and staff. Students are expected to use this email address when reaching out to anyone within the college or when they need to be contacted by the college. Can all the HSCI cources be taken at once
It is not possible to take all the Health Sciences (HSCI) courses at City Tech during a single semester. HSCI courses typically have prerequisites and co-requisites that need to be fulfilled before enrolling in subsequent courses. These prerequisites and co-requisites are in place to ensure that students have the necessary foundation and knowledge to succeed in higher-level courses.
What are the requirements for the Health Services Administration Degree?

Can students in their final semester of an associate degree request a change of major to a BS degree while still being eligible for graduation with their associate degree?
Yes students can, however if you are a student who is currently in HCPM and still need to apply to ASHS Graduation, submit an aplication to Registrars for the degree using this link.
What is the difference between the Health Services administration BS degree and Health Policy and Management BS Degree?
The Health Services Administration program focuses on the management and administration of healthcare organizations, while the The Health Policy and Management program emphasizes healthcare policy, public health, and the broader aspects of healthcare system management. Both degrees provide unique skill sets and knowledge bases that can lead to various career opportunities within the healthcare industry.
Professors schedule time outside of class to meet with students. These are called office hours. The office hours are listed in you syllabus. Office hours are times when you can meet with your professors to discuss the material being presented in class or other related interests you have.
What is Netiquette?
Many classes has content that takes place online, you are expected to observe the same behavior that you would in a normal classroom. Bullying, talking down to others, and foul language will not be permitted. You must use correct capitalization and punctuation. All caps posts and posts using text slang or emoji will have points deducted.

If you have trouble with your CityTech email, Blackboard,Openlab, ePortfolios, or any other online component of the course, please seek assistance immediately. You must have access to these resources and be able to use them in order to succeed in this and other courses.
