BUF 1101 Introduction to the Fashion Industry


Course Description:

This semester’s Intro to the Fashion Industry (BUF 1101-D105) provided an in-depth exploration of the fashion world. We dissected the multifaceted structure of fashion businesses and the pivotal roles of key figures such as designers and merchandisers. We also analyzed how technology is transforming 21st-century fashion and influencing global trends. Throughout the course, we gained a thorough understanding of fabric terminology and consumer behavior, which are crucial for developing effective merchandising strategies. Fashion forecasting was highlighted as a key element in creating collections and merchandise. Outside the classroom, BUF 1101 honed my critical thinking and communication skills, culminating in a comprehensive research paper. Looking back on this experience, I have developed a deep understanding of the fashion industry and am inspired by its limitless possibilities.
