    So, because all of our options for downloading class rosters put students’ full names into one cell, it’s quite tedious to split first and last names.

    With the formula contributed by Natan Ovshey, and the now-classic username/password formula from Jonas and Simon, I’ve uploaded a nice little Excel Template that automatically generates columns for First names, Last names, Usernames and passwords.

    I’ve also set it up so that any problematic usernames and passwords will be flagged in red. Recall that WeBWorK doesn’t like spaces or hyphens in usernames.

    Download the template and try pasting in your students from CUNYFirst, MyInfo or BlackBoard rosters… and as always, let me know if you find any errors!
