Coach Career Networking Exposure was a networking event hosted by Point Foundation. This Event was meant to meet and see a handful of departments that comprise marketing, product design, and more. It started with a panel where we were allowed to ask a few professionals some questions which helped me get clarity on some specific topics. Going on the tour was insightful with what goes on behind the scene with such a big brand as Coach. My main interest was the “speed networking” event where we got 5 minutes to do a one-on-one with workers from the tour. I got the chance to swap Linkedin and ask workers for their recommendations for finding a full-time job in their positions. My takeaway from this event was taking pride in who you are and treating my resume/experiences as my own brand. Marketing for myself is making sure I’m respected and a must-need addition to any workplace. This was a blast to attend and the only note I had for the host was that it would be helpful to prepare my questions if I knew who the guest speakers were ahead of time. Funny enough the person I met who gave me the most helpful advice wasn’t someone from Coach but from Kate Spade who joined as a surprised speaker. Jennifer Lyu is SVP and Head of Design, She went above and beyond to give me tips and second opinions. Hearing she had a similar upbringing and went in a different direction from her college degree was relatable so I felt I could trust her advice.
