    Here is the first HW assignment, from the textbook (Rosen, 7th ed). Please write out the solutions for the following exercises and hand them in at the beginning of class on Wed Sept 12:

    Sec 1.1: #4, 10(a)-(e), 14, 28, 30, 32(a)-(d), 37(a)
    Sec 1.2: #40, 41, 42
