Just a recap of what I’ve said in class about the book(s) for the course:
You can purchase the primary textbook (Ross, Introductory Statistics (3rd Ed)) in the campus bookstore, though I think it is rather expensive. There are also used copies for sale online (for example via Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0123743885/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used or B&N: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/p/introductory-statistics-sheldon-m-ross/1100696932/2691187233251). Or you may be able to buy a used copy from a CityTech student who has taken this course in the past.
But as I said in class, it’s not absolutely necessary to purchase the book. There are 4 copies on reserve in the CityTech library, where you can check it out for a short period of time. I believe you’re not allowed to leave the library with the book, but you can read it there, make photocopies of relevant pages, etc. The call # for the book is QA276 .R684 2010. Here is the entry on the CUNY library website:

You will need access to the Ross book for the HW exercises, but it’s also a good idea to read the book, since the examples we’ll do in class will be largely drawn from the book.
I also recommend you read the other book I suggested, How to Think About Statistics. Here is the Amazon link for that book I included on the course info sheet. It’s only $12:
