Dear students,
According to the syllabus, your Archive Reports are due today (https://openlab.citytech.cuny.edu/chinswiftlib22015fall2016/library-archive-report/). However, I will extend the deadline two weeks to November 30. We visited two archives this semester (NY Historical Society and NYPL, Map Room). You also walked past the NYPL Lincoln Center Library — which has the richest archive on theater history in New York City. To complete this assignment, do the following:
1) Identify 2-3 unanswered research questions in your project. Write down the questions.
2) Read the archive report template (under Assignments)
3) Take your questions and the template with you to one of the three archives listed above. As I wrote earlier, you can contact Maureen at NY Historical Society before your visit and she would be happy to point you to relevant materials.
4) Using the search guides at the archives, find materials that might help you answer your research questions.
5) Complete the Archive Report and post on OpenLab by November 30.
This assignment serves a dual purpose. By completing it, you are also building your bibliography and source list for your final paper (or portfolio).
