Preventing Sexual Harassment, by Jose Gonzalez
Description: I am asking the Human Services Club officers and members to join me in advocating for a sexual prevention certificate for all CityTech students, or at the very least, all Human Services students. While at Kingsborough Community College's Behavioral Science & Human Service Dept., it was mandatory for all students of that dept. to take an online quiz concerning the prevention of sexual harassment. I have uploaded a copy of my certificate, taken while a student enrolled in the chemical dependency degree program. I need your help with this Heather! How can we get the ball rolling? Disability / Mental Health Awareness Event
Description: Disability/Mental Health Awareness Event 2015. <br /> <br /> By: The Human Service Club (HUS) & The Expressions Club.<br /> <br /> The month of April is Disability awareness month, therefore, on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 there will be a Disability/Mental Health Awareness Event held in the Atrium Amphitheater, between 2:30pm – 4:30pm. While New York City College of Technology (NYCCT) students learn about diverse disabilities, and mental illnesses which could affect anybody, NYCCT students should also be aware of the signs, the treatments, and especially how to embrace an individual surviving a mental illness or disability. Our goal is to enhance the knowledge of all students attending NYCCT to bring about awareness of the difference between mental health and disability, and the probability of mental health in America, statistics of such, as well as what to do in the early stages, such as; Primary, secondary, and tertiary preventive care. Our goal is to increase public awareness and understanding of disabilities and mental health, also a deeper understanding of the acceptable and respectable terminology which is would ensure full inclusion of all individuals into every community. This is an event which will benefit the entire NYCCT Population. Occupational Awareness Meeting
Description: Hello:<br /> I hope the mid-semester was not too tough, the best part is – we have passed the half-way point to the end of the semester.<br /> <br /> March 26. 2015 is our Occupational Awareness meeting.<br /> <br /> This meeting is hosted by Dr. Pawlukewicz, who has asked an alumni to attend.<br /> <br /> Many students have asked “What steps should we take after graduation?” This meeting is going to be packed with information pertaining to life experience within the field, where to look for job assistance, and how to transition from student to professional in the field. This meeting will also be a forum for you to ask questions, listen to life experiences of working within the field, both during and after college. Graduate School meeting 2015
Description: Are you about to graduate with your Bachelor’s degree, have you been thinking about graduate school? While it may be difficult to consider more than one school at a time, it is imperative that you begin to consider which graduate school you may attend, and what is needed in order to register. There are numerous benefits and reasons for earning an advanced degree, which I am sure you have discussed many times during class. If this is something you are interested in, or may be interested in the future, then please attend our meeting.
