Employment Opportunities: NYC/Brooklyn Office July 2016 The Center for Community Alternatives (CCA) is a leader in the field of community-based alternatives to incarceration. All positions require demonstrated cultural competency and a commitment to work on behalf of disempowered, and marginalized people, particularly those involved in the criminal or juvenile justice system, excellent writing, organizational and word processing skills. Bilingual: English/Spanish a plus. Community Health Educator: conduct outreach, facilitate evidence-based HIV/STI and pregnancy prevention workshops for youth and young adults involved with the criminal and juvenile justice systems. Deliver and facilitate community education workshops for parents, caregivers and other community stakeholders. Provide referrals for family planning and other health related services. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in health, education, or related. Knowledge of STD's/STI's, teen pregnancy and family planning and demonstrated experience in education/community outreach. Court Advocate, Court Services: responsible for conducting initial client screening and assessment, background investigation including making home visits, interviewing family members and collecting background documentation to support alternative to incarceration placement. Serves as program liaison to the court; writes and submits reports representing client progress, needs and concerns. Work in concert with program staff. Qualifications: Master’s degree preferred, Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work or related field required and experience working in criminal justice system and with at risk youth. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Director of Treatment Services provides day to day oversight of treatment programs including client intake, the treatment center, achievement of project goals and objectives, contract compliance, program staffing, development and supervision. The Director chairs project staff and clinical meetings, prepares reports to funders, and assists with continued funding applications and funding proposals. Qualifications: CASAC required with Master’s degree in social work, criminal justice, rehabilitation, public health or related field. QHP with 3+years chemical dependency clinical and supervisory and successful OASAS compliance experience. Excellent management, clinical and written/oral communication skills. Substance Abuse Case Manager, Treatment Services: provide case management services to adults with substance use and criminal justice histories including referrals to community based organizations and facilitating education and chemical dependency support groups. Assist with quality assurance activities including client record and treatment plan review and QHP authorization. Maintain OASAS compliant case files and assist with monthly progress reports for submission to court, probation, and parole. Qualifications: CASAC or CASAC-T and demonstrated experience with OASAS documentation required.
