Growing up, I’ve always been proud of my writing due to my skills being honed & built up by my grandmother, a massive figure in my life. I only knew that my skills were improving over time due to my previous English teachers applauding my work and encouraging my growth. One of the first times I was proud of my writing was after I found out my score for the English State Exam was a 4. I was congratulated for my hard work which only further encouraged me to improve further; now I enter college ready to gain more knowledge/understanding of English & what keeps it alive and authentic today. Although I don’t write novels, I really enjoy reading them. Something that I read that I really enjoyed was a fictional novel, I’ve always enjoyed reading those types of books because they kind of help me escape reality & take on a new emotion/experience.
