The first thing I will look for on your midterm is a CLEAR RESPONSE TO THE QUESTION. That response is your thesis statement and goes at the bottom of the introductory paragraph.
The next thing I will look for is an ACCURATE UNDERSTANDING OF THE ARTICLE you are writing about. Any factual inaccuracies will result in a dramatically reduced grade.
I deduct 1-2 points for grammar and spelling mistakes. Please reread your writing before you hand it in.

After all of that, I love to be engaged. Write something you’d want a friend to read. Write to someone you believe is interesting and paying attention.
