Some students have received their essays back graded and many have not. Either way, I am asking you to read and/or download the document “transitionals in essays” posted today in Docs and look for transitionals that you either already used or COULD have used.
Whether your paper is graded already or not,
1) add a few transitionals as per the new directions
2) highlight the ones you add
3) bold or underline any which you already had.
4) do not use excessive transitionals–one per paragraph is sufficient
Keep in mind, the coordinating and subordinating words are NOT transitionals. Use the list of transitionals I gave you. I will post the list again.
5) resend your newly enhanced essays for the next class.
