In this section, Ching gives us much information about the structural units, structural spans, and structural patterns, and so on. There is a lot’s of connections between the columns and beams. Slabs or in other words plate structure. It says that these slabs are like parallel, they never meet. It naturally defines an axial. Mostly the walls are perpendicular to the primary axis. The spans indicate the spacing between the two columns. There are different spanning systems. One way and two ways. There are Timber, Steel, and Reinforced Concrete. All three of these have a different connection with each other. Their joints are different from the precast tees and the planks are in different ranges.
