Self-Analysis

Throughout the Baccalaureate Nursing Program, I have gained an abundant amount of knowledge regarding other areas in nursing. Since I’m an inexperienced registered nurse, I wasn’t aware of the many issues nurses face outside of the hospital setting, as well as the many areas a nurse can specialize in. The nursing classes have enabled me to find the leader within myself as well as realize that leaders aren’t only born, they can be made. It has also helped me realize how community nurses are needed. Individuals in under-served communities need our support and education on preventive health. I have learned how to effectively communicate with individuals of different age groups, ethnicity and cultures, as well as assessing the needs of their community. This program has helped expand my knowledge and I hope to continue advancing and serve those that are at a disadvantage in the health care system.
