About the Organization

I landed a job at a non-profit organization. This public organization is small and very community-based. They are located in Flushing, Queens and solely operate out of that office. They were founded in 2016 after going through a rebranding from their previous organization and it was up from there. They expanded to India, Pakistan, Morrocco, Egypt, and Liberia in their journey to make the world a better place. They also reached over 1000 volunteers from across the globe who have joined their cause. They were even there to help the community through the hardships that COVID-19 brought by delivering groceries, hot meals, personal hygiene products, toiletries, and other necessities for daily use that were in need.

Their mission is to empower and integrate underserved communities and other immigrants into civic and economic life. They assist individuals and families in advocating for social justice, boosting civic engagement, providing educational opportunities, providing healthcare access for all, and providing senior support services. They have accomplished a lot in many different spaces. They have provided $15,000 in scholarships to students, paid $25,000 in student loan debt, provided English courses to over 900 individuals, helped 10,000+ individuals have access to healthcare, and much more. They have partnerships with many big organizations like Apple, Visa, NYPD, New York City College of Technology, Chase, and many more.

I am a part of the communications and marketing department. The organization has accomplished a lot and I am glad to have been chosen as one of their Digital Design Associates. I am excited to see what kind of work I could offer them to help keep their brand intact so they can continue to accomplish the most that they can.
