Sept. 21, 2011 – Posting Guidelines

Below is a set of sample posts.  The goal is for each student to keep a running a journal of their activities.  Suggestions to help you keep this organized and accessible include the following:

  • Title each entry with the date and follow this with a topic if possible.
  • Keep the date format short – Sept. 26 2011 so it displays well on the menu
  • A goal is to keep the entries going – so keep it short – but do it often.
  • Use Categories to organize your posts – this will make it easier to search and located related posts.  For example you can create a category called “In the Classroom” that you could use to tag any post you make after you teach.
  • When you start your own posts you should either delete the posts that came with the template or if you want to keep them for future reference set them to “draft” so they are not visible

Sept. 8, 2011 – In the classroom

Today was my first day in a classroom in front of a group of students.  I was nervous at first but then I calmed down as soon as the students started asking questions.  The class was only 55 minutes long – it went more quickly than I expected – and I had fun.

Sept. 6, 2011 – Newest goes on top

It’s me again.  This will take some getting used to. In my hand journal my most recent post is at the bottom of the page and on a WordPress blog my latest entry is at the top – which makes sense for a website.  You learn something new every day!

Sept. 3, 2011 – Write every day

I am beginning to think it is more important to try to write a little something every day instead of trying to write a book.  So my goal moving forward it to keep it short and to the point and try to do it as often as possible.
