Event planning Charts
Creating a variety of charts and tables early in the planning process can allow the manager to define the length of time needed to complete the project. Using the current production calendar create your GANTT, PERT and WBS charts and tables. What did you learn from your documents about your assigned event?
The Program Evaluation Review Technique or PERT Chart. It provides a graphical representation of a project’s timeline. The chart breaks down the individual tasks of a project for analysis. PERT charts are helpful to identify task dependencies. Task dependencies determine the order in which project tasks must be executed. The critical path can also be defined allowing the manager to focus the best resources on specific tasks.
GANTT charts are used to have a user friendly schedule to share and collaborate. It is a visual presentation of the project timeline. The project tasks compared to time. Specific tasks are displayed as horizontal bars, and the length of the bar indicates how long that task is supposed to take.

The WBS or work breakdown structure allows the manager to observe the relationship between labor, assigned tasks and schedule start and completions. It is a hierarchical approach to understanding a project presenting known tasks and deliverables.
