Academic Integrity Policy
Academic dishonesty includes any act that is designed to obtain fraudulently, either for oneself or for someone else, academic credit, grades, or any other form of recognition that was not properly earned. Academic dishonesty encompasses the following:
- Cheating: Giving, receiving, using or attempting to use unauthorized materials, information, notes, study aids, including any form of unauthorized communication, in any academic exercise. It is the student’s responsibility to consult with instructors to determine whether or not a study aid or device may be used.
- Plagiarism: Intentionally and knowingly presenting the ideas or works of another as one’s own original idea or works in any academic exercise without proper acknowledgement of the source. Please cite your sources.
Attendance/Promptness:
If you have a legitimate reason for missing an assignment or if you will be late, you must contact me. Black board logs the date and time each time you are there. All the work you turn in is date and time stamped. Being late is demonstrated by you not doing your reflections, quizzes and assignments on time. You must be in person for atleast ten hours of lecture to earn your OSHA 10 General Industry Card.
Grades:
Your grade will be determined as follows:
Tests | 25% |
Projects | 35% |
Reflections | 20% |
Quizzes | 20% |
All blackboard content will reflect a zero after the assignment deadline has past.
Show Attendance Policy (Departmental Policy)
If you are going to work in the Entertainment Industry, it is as important to be an educated and engaged audience member as it is to have a clear understanding of what happens backstage. Also, when your peers and/or faculty are working hard on a live event for the department, they must be rewarded with your strong support and encouragement, even though you may have nothing to do with that project. There is nothing worse, after working a “zillion” hours on a project, than to have a small audience.
Therefore, as part of completion of this course you will be REQUIRED to attend at least one of the departments and Theatreworks’ live events. The Haunted Hotel also must be visited at least once each year. Please come and show your support as often as you can!
