How to achieve success in EMT1150?
EMT1150 is a five-credit course. Students have four hours of lecture and three hours of lab every week. Indeed, this is a demanding course, but everyone can succeed in this course if they use the right strategy. Here are some suggestions:
- Study hard
- Study smartly
- Study efficiently.
Study hard is necessary. No one can learn everything just in the lecture and lab hours, and you must study extra hours. But it would help if you thought about how to work smartly or think about how to learn. This process is called metacognition. The following video introduces the basic concept.
More often, students came to me at the end of the semester and expressed their regret that they didn’t complete the work on time. They did the lab work, but always complained they didn’t have time to complete their lab reports. So time management or study efficiently is the key. It is a big change from high school to college.
