The Mentor Volunteer Training The target audience is any male or female between the ages of 19 and above who is interested in having a one to one mentoring partnership with a child or youth between the ages of 7 and 15 for a year or more and spend twice a month with the child (weekends). The intended outcome was for the volunteers to learn what Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) expect from them as a mentor, the guidelines and comprehension of information. I co facilitated this 2 hour training that took place at BBBS 40 Rector street main building. This training focused on their role of becoming a big; that they are an adult friend not a parent, they will be assigned a case worker whom will be in contact with them and their mentee’s family. The types of outings that are allowed, match life cycle and the gift giving policies.
