Internships

From September 2017 to May 2018, I’m working as an administrative intern for the New Alternatives for Children agency, which I was placed in through CUNY’s Service Corps. My site is a contractor for the New York Administration for Child Safety, and our focus is on assisting lower-income families with children with disabilities, to keep them from being taken from their homes and placed in foster care.
The work I do is highly time-sensitive, and I make absolutely sure that my time filing and entering cases is done with a very high degree of accuracy. My interactions with the social workers on NAC’s payroll are what started my interest in becoming a social worker myself.
