My name is Destiny Ramos currently a Professional and Technical Writing Student at Excelsior College working towards my Bachelors in Science in the PTW major. I have always loved writing growing up and decided that it is a career that I should pursue.
Originally, I was an Art and Advertisement student at New York City College of technology because I wanted to do art. I hadn’t realized that the career would be too stressful for me and so I changed my major to Professional and Technical Writing at City Tech. However, now I am taking up PTW at Excelsior College because they are an online school and having online classes right now do not collide with my schedule.
I am currently an employee of the Department of Education, teaching at an after school program in Bushwick. Some of my responsibilities at this job are assisting children with their homework, lesson planning, administering the lesson, and overall being a positive roll model to the children in the program. I have been working there for 4 years while trying to pursue a college degree.
My objective is to continue this career as an educator where I can use my knowledge in child education as well as the knowledge I’ve acquired in this major.
