This patient was a 66-year-old Persian female was an ASA II classification. During the intra-oral examination, the patient presented a classic case of ankyloglossia (tongue-tie). This is where the lingual frenulum attaches the tongue to the floor of the mouth in such a way that it restricts the movement of the tongue. In this case, the patient was aware of their condition but reported to be asymptomatic and something that they have been living with their whole life with no complications. Due to her age and track record, it was not suggested that she should seek treatment. Normally ankyloglossia is treated when the patient is an infant.
