Hello, my name is Diane, I am a communication design major. I graduated with an associate degree in public health. My love for art was born when I visited a museum when I was around 11 years old. I was in awe and truly enjoyed the visit. For years when I will see a drawing, painting, or piece of art I will always stare at it with admiration and curiosity. For all these years it never crosses my mind that I could pursue a career in an artistic field. At that time I thought to be an artist you should know how to draw. A few years ago I ask myself what I like and what I see myself pursuing as a career. That’s when I chose art. This experience also allows me to realize that sometimes our thinking and limitation can block us from achieving our dreams. In reality not knowing how to draw does not prevent you from being an artist. I’m multi-passionate I love dancing, reading, traveling and so many other things. One of my favorite artists is Yayoi Kusama. She is very talented but beyond her art, she has a very fascinating and powerful story. She had to endure a lot of obstacles and trials. She inspires me and motivates me in many ways. I also like Paula Scher, Andy Warhol, Bisa Butler, Faith Ringgold, and many more. For me, art is in everything you don’t need to have Picasso skills to be considered an artist even a simple doodle can be a piece of art.
