WHO I AM

My name is Jessica. This is my first semester at City Tech. I am in the Law and Paralegal Studies program because I previously had a job working at a law firm. I learned a lot and I think it made me a better person. I think being a paralegal and helping in cases would suit me, since it is a very detail-oriented job and I tend to be an over thinker. I think I might like to do legal research, but I am not sure.  I enjoy watching trials on TV. I love it when the lawyers ask questions and that is how they paint the picture-just pure questions! In my free time I enjoy watching comedies, reading books, and drinking lots of tea.

Hello, my name is Claire. I am majoring in Paralegal Studies because I want to become a paralegal investigator for a public defender. I want to work for defense because I don’t believe the system of incarceration in United States functions for the public good. I enjoy researching and think I have an aptitude and an intuition that suits investigative fieldwork. I like the professional options that come with a paralegal degree and I’d like to have a better understanding of the law and legal system in general. Outside of school I am very interested in fashion and design and I am fascinated by reality TV and the personas people create for themselves.

Hello everyone my name is Yunuen Barrera and i’m interested in this course because since I was in high school I wanted to be involved in law and seeing my family and others wanting to get their green card etc made me want to help other people with the same situation. I feel that with this course it will motivate me even more to reach my goals in the future and gain some knowledge to becoming an attorney and or paralegal. Besides that i’m currently looking for law schools after I’m done with NYCCT.

Hello everyone my name is Virice Webb Jr. I am a second year student at city tech. I have a major of law & paralegal studies. I chose my major, because I am highly interested in our country’s legal system. I intend to finish my bachelors degree here at city Tech, and attend law school afterwards. I knew I wanted to be a legal advocate, when I realized how good I am at advocating for others. Another reason why I knew I wanted to become a lawyer was my passion for debating my beliefs and views. I hope I can be a help to my community & the world . I enjoy discussing current events and court cases. I’m a huge animal lover. I have a dog, 24 African cichlids, and a bearded dragon. My favorite thing to do is travel. I love adventure. My next adventure will be to Kenya this spring. I intend to stay at the Maasai Mara safari national park, which shares a border with Tanzania’s Serengeti national park.

My name is Renee Williams, I am in the Law and Paralegal Studies program because I want to learn about the law and how it works. I’m in it because I want to make a positive impact on people as the demands for lawyers are needed every day. My goal is to become a divorce paralegal because it gives me the opportunity to help others that are going through a tough time in their marriage and it is a rewarding feeling to know you can help someone during a difficult process and see the benefit, they receive from your service. Something else about me is that I love to travel and go to new countries and experience new cultures.
