Where do you want to work?

I chose to apply to “Aaron Wallenstein’s Law office” because he is a very educated and trusted lawyer. His firm is located in 160 Broadway New York, NY 10038. According to his past and current clients, he made sure to walk them through the statuses of their cases and assures them they are in good hands. His professional and supportive attitude, along with his success is what grew his foundation. This office is a small firm & handles many areas such as False impersonation, Licensure, child endangerment etc., but mainly focuses on Criminal defense. I believe working at a smaller law firm is helpful because it is easier to get in direct contact with your lawyer/clients.

I would want to work in this Law office because Mr. Wallenstein and his team seem to be very passionate with there professions and are known to be experienced. He helps defend people who’ve gone through police brutality and wrongful convictions. I mentioned these two topics because they usually don’t get enough attention and I appreciate that Mr. Wallenstein addresses these issues. According to https://criminaldefenselawyerny.com/ (The law firms personal website), he has “Successfully handled” over thousands of cases which is good to hear. This firm has so much great feedback. Clients have been sharing and recommending their fulfilled experiences. It is important to work in a helpful and positive workspace and “Aaron Wallenstein’s Law office”  shows that.

I am pursing a career as a paralegal for the sexual abuse attorneys  at Dalton and associates. Dalton and associates is large litigation law firm that has not only one office (located in Delaware) but another one right in the big apple (474 3rd ave New York, NY 10017). For over the course of 35 years, Dalton and associates have been granting salvation to clients who have experienced negligence in the work force, medical malpractice, civil rights injustices, sexual abuse and more. According to Dalton law, they have quite the experience in sexual abuse cases and have won hundreds of millions of dollars for victims including the settlement of $500 million in the Michigan State vs Dr. Nassar case. From prosecuting the archdiocese to doctors of the Olympics, they have worked all over the world to bring their clients to victory. I would like to work here because it is a family owned, well knit community dedicated to making sure that their clients are well compensated for the violation that they have suffered. Helping victims of sexual assault is important to me because it may help more victims to come out and be comfortable with telling their stories and seeking justice against their abusers.

Who Am I?

Hey guys, my name is Tyerrah Ramos and I am pursing a bachelors in Paralegal Studies. It took me a while to mentally get to this point, ever since I was little girl I always thought I would have a career in fashion. Whether it was modeling like the girls i saw on Victorias secret, or being an editor in chief of a high fashion magazine like Miranda Prisley, I just knew I would be a fashion mogul. Well after pursuing fashion for basically all of my life, I decided it wasn’t the job for me. I came to the realization that I could love fashion without working in the field. So I did a lot of soul searching and decided Law was the way to go. Even if I didn’t become a big time lawyer, knowing my rights and the way the law system works can help me better protect the people that I love. My family (being mainly hispanic and black) can sometimes be a target for social injustices and with my knowledge I can help to avoid that from happening as much as I can. Aside  from that I love song writing, spending time with family and friends, and reading.

Who I Am!

Hello everyone, my name is  Biana. I am in law and paralegal studies because I’m someone who’s obsessing with cases and trials and because of that it become a hobbies for me to play with my sister, (Example) of Who would be the criminal, Who would be the judge ,Who would be the attorney, Who would be the jury and Who would be the audience. I always wants  to win arguments even when I know it’s pointless. Since I was a kid my dreams is to become an attorney to help out my community.

Something I want you to know is that this summer was the worst of all the summer I had before , because all I did was work and I didn’t have time to spend with my family or friends.

Who I am

Hello, my name is Hadil. I chose to major in Law & Paralegal studies because I grew up interested in the legal fields. I like to watch movies/documentaries based on court cases and solving mysteries. I want to help people who are, or have gone through wrongful conviction, Police brutality, racial profiling etc. Although I don’t have a specific career in mind, I’m hoping its something that can help ease peoples lives and stand up for their rights.

I didn’t really do much this summer. I went out with family/friends here and there but I also like spending my days off at home. It was a calm and relaxing summer overall. Looking forward to learning more about law !!!

Who I Am

Hello, my name is Jaqueline. I am in law and paralegal studies because I want to be involved and included in the law/legal world. As a young child, I saw my godmother work as a lawyer and I knew I wanted to be just like her. Now that I’m older, I don’t really know what I want to do with my life, so I’ll just go through with the original plan. I’ll get my degree and then go to law school.

Something I want you to know is that I really enjoyed my summer. I didn’t do much but I spent time with family, and it was a nice and needed break since I started school during the spring 2022 semester.

Who I Am!

Hello!  I am Kerin Coughlin, the instructor of this course!  I teach in City Tech’s Law and Paralegal Studies department because I love the law, and I love teaching!  Many moons ago, I was a junior high school Social Studies teacher, then I became a lawyer, and I practiced law full-time for about twelve years.  During most of that time, I was a commercial litigator, which means I represented people and companies that were either suing companies, or getting sued.  While I was practicing full-time, I started teaching law part-time, and I really liked it, so I decided to switch it up.  This is my ninth year teaching full-time here at City Tech, and I love it!  My favorite part of teaching is working with students.  You’re all awesome!

Something I want you to know about me is that I had a rough summer.  🙁  First, in late April, I broke my leg, which required surgery and a looooooooong recovery period.  I missed the end of the semester, then I wasn’t able to walk for most of the summer.  But I worked hard at physical therapy, and now I’m OK!  Second, my cat died in mid-August.  🙁  I really loved him, his name was Darryl and he was only ten years old.  His photo is below.  He had kidney disease which we treated for a long time, but in the end, it was too much for him.  I had him euthanized.  I really miss him a lot.

But now I’m confident this school year is going to be GREAT — I will make sure it is, to make up for the summer I had!  I hope each of you has a great year too.  I really look forward to working with all of you!

Cheers!!

KC
