Elements of an episode

Each episode consists of four parts:

  1. Preview: This is a short written introduction to the episode, explaining what students can expect to do and learn.
  2. Play: Students play a short game featuring our robot hero DOT. Each game is designed to illustrate the main ideas of the episode in a hands-on fashion.
  3. Practice: Students complete a problem (using embedded WeBWorK technology) to practice what they learned in the game. This problem is more purely mathematical and focusses less on applications. Students can try the problem as many times as they like, and an option is provided to try a different version of the same problem.
  4. Apply: Students complete a final problem, this time applying their knowledge in a physical context.

Once students complete the four parts correctly, they will be prompted to enter their email for tracking purposes. Verification of completion will be provided to participating faculty.
