Welcome from the chair
Welcome to the Department of Radiologic Technology & Medical Imaging website. We are pleased to help students fulfill both their educational and professional needs. Our department offers an AAS degree in Radiologic Technology, 65 credits, and a new and exciting Bachelor of Science degree in Radiological Science (BSRS), 55 credits for a total of 120 credits. The AAS degree program requires a full-time, day-only commitment for two years, including summer sessions. Upon completion of this degree, graduates will be eligible to sit for the national certification and licensing exam. These credentials are necessary for entry into the profession of medical imaging.
The BSRS program is an option for qualified candidates who have completed either a certificate or AAS degree program in Radiologic Technology, Sonography, Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy. Candidates must also have their certification and/or license according to the requirements of their professional discipline. The BSRS curriculum is especially designed in response to the rapidly changing technology in medical imaging and the growing need for multi-skilled medical imagers. Students will study the administrative functioning of the radiology department and the health care industry; advanced disciplines in CT, MRI, Mammography, and Medical Imaging Informatics; and leadership roles for supervisory and managerial positions. The curriculum also offers a rich Arts and Science component for personal and professional growth, leading to a rewarding and successful career. Classes are conveniently offered during the day or in the evening and students may enroll part-time or full-time.
If you are interested in acquiring the skills necessary to succeed in the ever-growing field of medical imaging, please peruse our website and contact us at the address and number below. Applications are accepted year-round. You will find our department’s environment collegiate yet inviting and comfortable.
We are rated by our alumni as a superior program as we strive for excellence and continuous improvement.
