Welcome Message from Department Chair
Class of 2025, welcome to CET!
I would like to welcome class of 2025 to the Computer Engineering Technology Department at the New York City College of Technology (CITY TECH). The Department of Computer Engineering Technology (CET) has a long and distinguished history back to the origin of the college, and is one of the largest departments at CITY TECH.
The CET Department takes a multi-disciplinary approach with theoretical and practical foundations in current and emerging technologies. The department is dedicated to preparing students with the fundamentals of electrical technology, electromechanical technology, computer hardware, software, networks, using engineering principles to integrate these technologies to control electromechanical devices, and develop computer controlled and embedded systems.
The COVID-19 pandemic significantly alters the way we deliver the education and service to you. Many things in our daily lives have been compromised, but not the quality of our program! Our commitment stays the same and stays firm. To help you develop critical thinking, self-awareness, communication and many other soft skills that you can carry along with you into the real world upon graduation really matters. Through this upcoming certainly unforgettable experience, and if viewed with a growth mindset, the skills and qualities can be cultivated by your efforts and perseverance. And it can be life-changing, changing for a bright future!

Department Mission Statement
Our mission is to prepare graduates for immediate employment and continued educational opportunities through a quality technical and experience-based education. The Department of Computer Engineering Technology takes a multi-disciplinary approach to technology providing theoretical and practical foundations in current and emerging technologies. The department prepares our students to be proficient with the basics of electrical technology, electromechanical technology, computer hardware, software, and computer networks, using engineering principles to integrate these technologies to control electromechanical devices, and develop computer controlled and embedded systems.
Through excellence in teaching, hands-on laboratory experience, smaller class sizes, and innovative use of technology, the department provides a friendly atmosphere for each individual where learning, creativity, and personal growth can flourish. The department is committed to provide a high quality education to students of diverse background and cultures for entry in the electromechanical and computer industry.
