Official Course Description
An introduction to the research methodologies utilized in the social and behavioral sciences, beginning with the fundamentals of research design, through data collection, analysis, interpretation, and the final reporting of results. Both quantitative and qualitative designs are examined using software to aid in inquiry and analysis.
Parent Education levels and Student Aspirations.
In this paper my group conducted a survey with 78 students in the CUNY system or recently graduated from a CUNY University through Google Survey. We wanted to find various parent educational levels, levels financial aid support through their parents , and levels of student aspirations (the students plans after a semester in college) all through an ordinal scale then we used Mircrosoft Excel & SPSS Statistics to analyze the data. We wanted to see if a parent has higher education, and provides more financial support to their children, would it lead to the student having more aspirations in higher education.
