CET3640 – Software for Computer Control

Semester Project

Objective:

The objective of this project is to apply the knowledge acquired during the semester into a project where you will develop an Android app.

Overall Requirements:

• You have to work in teams of minimum 3 people, maximum 4.
• The project has the following components:

1-      Project Proposal ( 15% due on April 19, 2013)

2-      Oral Presentation ( 25%, due on May 10, 2013)

3-      Written Report and Code (60%, due on May 17, 2013)

• You have to develop an Android app where apply some of the programming techniques learned in the course (APIs, inheritance, polymorphism, data structures, etc.)

Project Proposal Details (1 page, single space):

In the project proposal you have to indicate the following:

• Your team members and team name
• The description of the app that you are planning to develop
• An estimated timetable for the design, implementation, writing the report, preparing and practicing the presentation.

Project Presentation:

On May 10, 2013 you and your team will be presenting your work in a slide show. You will have 12 minutes to present your work and 2-5 minutes for questions/answers. You have to stay for all presentations that day. You also must submit your presentation on Blackboard.

Project Written Report (4-6 pages including figures, single space):

In your project written report include the following sections with their corresponding details:

• Introduction and Motivation
• Design Details
• Implementation
• Test and Results
• Conclusion and Lessons Learned
• References (at least 4 from reliable sources)

You must submit your written report on Blackboard by the May 17, 2013 deadline.
