Course Syllabus: Business Law
Course Description: The course delves into the historical background and sources of law pertinent to business procedures, with a specific focus on the formation, operation, performance, and discharge of contracts. It includes a survey of local and federal courts. This comprehensive survey course serves as an introduction to various crucial aspects of substantive and procedural law governing relationships between individuals and business organizations.
Key topics covered in the course encompass Anglo-American Jurisprudence, the U.S. federal and state court systems, fundamental Constitutional Law concepts, Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Procedures (such as arbitration and mediation), Business Crimes and Torts, Commercial and Sales Contract Formation under Article 2 of The Uniform Commercial Code, and basic legal concepts of Property, including Copyrights, Patents, and Trademarks.
