Brookhaven National Laboratory
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has established a national program titled the Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship (SULI). Under it, Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) and other labs offer student appointments for spring, summer, and fall terms. Participants will be associated with members of the scientific and professional staff in an educational program developed to give research experience in areas of chemistry, physics, engineering, biology, nuclear medicine, applied mathematics, high- and low-energy particle accelerators, and science writing.

The Alvin T. and Viola D. Fuller Research Fellowship
The fellowship lasts a minimum of 10 weeks and allows participants to assist in cancer research. It carries with it a $4,000 stipend. Applicants must be residents of New England (CT, MA, ME, NH, RI, or VT) and enrolled in a four-year undergraduate program. They may be attending college/university outside of New England. Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program
SURF is a 10 week research experience that supports undergraduate students for the summer at Boston University. Participants from institutions across the country are paired with BU faculty members who will serve as their research mentors. As part of the program, participants also attend a series of summer enrichment workshops whose topics range from laboratory safety to research ethics to scientific writing.
Research Internships at Marine Science at Wood Hole, MA
This program is hosted by Boston University. Undergraduates who have decided on a career in marine sciences are encouraged to apply for a research internship for work on organisms and processes in coastal bays of New England. Interns make use of the rich variety of research taking place in the Woods Hole community, to work on a semi-independent project with an appropriate host scientist. Interns work closely with a host scientist to design a feasible project, carry out the work, and prepare results for talks and manuscripts.
