One of the general education courses I took as an undergraduate was an interdisciplinary course called “Healing The Body: The Visual Culture of Medicine”. One of our assignments was to analyze a painting of our choosing and reflect on the formal characteristics of the painting, what emotions are evoked through the painting, and the medical issue represented. I chose the painting “The Two Fridas” by Frida Kahlo. Below you may find my analysis of the painting.
Below, you can find a writing sample from one of my Baccalaureate Nursing Classes, Nurse Leadership. This paper examines nursing competencies as outlined by the American Organization of Nursing Executives. The paper is based largely on research of managerial skills and managerial styles I witnessed as a nursing student while shadowing a Nurse Manager.
Attached is a self-evaluation of my time at the Stein Senior Center as part of my clinical site for Community Nursing (NUR4010). The self-evaluation is based on the student performance guidelines that are distributed and filled out by the clinical professor every semester. This was my first time critiquing myself as a student, and I found it both challenging and rewarding. Community Nursing was one of my favorite classes in the Baccalaureate Nursing Program. At the Stein Center, we organized a community health fair for and we dedicated a portion of our clinical time to researching local health center, private practitioners, and city agencies.
