Teaching Experience

My record of teaching started in graduate school at Pratt Institute where I was a teaching assistant to 1st and 2nd year design classes as well as an assistant in Morphology courses in 1995-97. I began teaching at Citytech as an adjunct in the college of architecture technology in 2006 and placed on a tenure track in 2008. I also taught fromĀ 2008-14 as an Adjunct Faculty, at School of Visual Arts Interior Design, running several upper level Design studies and wrote the Design-Build studio for the school.

From 2004-05 I taught as an Ā Adjunct Faculty at New York Institute of Technology, teaching building technology classes to 3rd year students.

In 2012 Iw as invited by the Swiss Government to a think tank exchange and review of education – research – manufacturing processes in Switzerland. I was one of a few select educators, designers, artists, curators and writers to be part of the think tank Exhibit Swiss Culture ExchangeĀ . Since that time I have been part of several meaningful think tanks, advisory councils and teams that have engaged examining design education and processes. While at City Tech I have taught a great many classes over the years including in the various degree programs we have had including the AAS – Associates degree, BTech – Bachelors of Technology degree and our new BArch – Bachelors of Architecture degree.

Certified Trainer Cal EMA (California Emergency Management) Safety Assessment Program, I have delivered thisĀ program at City tech on severalĀ occasions.Ā 

Certified Instructor NDPTC ā€“ National Disaster Preparedness Training Center, FEMA and theĀ Department of Homeland Security for delivery of the course Hurriplan ā€“ Resilient Building Design for Coastal Communities. IĀ have delivered this course at City Tech on threeĀ occasions.

Certified Instructor CEDAR ā€“ New York Department of State Post disaster inspection program

ULI Urban Land Institute, Urban Plan training instructor certification. This course work is now integrated into the Architecture Technology Courses Arch3612 and Arch4712.
