Recycled art in engineering

There is no set imagery on what something artistic is supposed to look like. when most people hear art in engineering we are not always prone to consummating to two but they do go hand in hand. John Baldessari raises a very important point about art being something “we all” could use over and over again.  Baldessari made me think of some welding art from a simple artist named Joe Pogan. he takes old pieces of scrap metal and puts them together layer by layer in an amazing way showing that even from common junk like nuts, bolts, spoons and old combination locks something beautiful can be made (the bird). even the robots we create in the mechanical department, to me, is considered in it own right, art. we tend to personify them more in a human sense by calling them names like flex, spiderbot and crystal but to see the developments and singularity of each says alot about not only the piece(robot or painting) but the creator(engineer or painter) as well.

Those are fascinating, complex works of sculpture, thanks for the link. It is extremely interesting seeing humble scrap objects used like jewels to build and ornament these works, they almost look fragile.
